That’s the other team’s job but as a member of the branch team which is the sister of the petition team, Leonard is set to the very place the teams are trying to save. Leonard is part of the research team and they were sent to gather as much data as possible there to finally solve the mysteries of the place soon, they are doing that for if the petition team fails, then at least their data of the ancient structure are already recorded. But everyone is rooting for the petition team to come-up successful, otherwise they will lose this marvel from the ancient past.
Leonard was lucky that day as he goes on his job, for temporary restraining orders have pushed-through and that made the junkyard personnel to vacate and abandon whatever they are doing there for the time-being.
