Maynard has a sufficient amount of bovine individuals to support his farm, he uses the cows and the bison to mow the fields, pull-carts, gets milk from, and all sorts of hard labor which a mere human cannot accomplish or not quickly enough. In return he takes good care of not only his bovines, but all of his beasts of burden in his care. He cherishes each and every one of them and that’s why that day when one of them was missing, he immediately got uneasy and he went to find it.

The one that was missing was this peculiar kind of cow that he has, it was small compared to the others that he has and in-fact very small, it’s kind of like a dwarf cow and he doesn’t put labor on such a small animal. But it’s a fun animal to be with though especially with the children, and they play with the little thing when they come over. Now that it’s missing, Maynard must do all that he can to find it before somebody does and bring it to a circus or something for a profit.
