Not at all! This is a well-known and long-used “trap” of adventure game authors, where the length of the clue equals the number of buttons. The clue can be interpreted in two ways, and that’s the point. Either the buttons must be pressed just according the clue. Or, as in this case, the clue is a NUMBERING of buttons, where the number of each button indicates the order in which it should be pressed. So, the FOURTH button from the left is pressed first.
