Davidson’s task here is quite a dangerous one, for he will be trying to rescue this mermaid which had been captured by a dangerous man and she was just held captive there in some cage near the beach. Davidson knows mermaids for he had been a friend to them for a long time. This task was even given to him by them so this is a mission that he must not fail, and that only adds to the pressure.
