Merlo was in this forest for the place is a park and he is a ranger there. As he was in this area, he found a young tigress imprisoned in a cage just sitting there. Merlo initially thought as poachers! But he remembered he had a forgotten task to free a tiger there which got accidentally trapped in a cage. That thing was being used by researchers and was just there.
