Escape players, you work as a ranger here and helping the forest and its inhabitants is one of your main jobs, so you went out to work something out for the surviving animals. You decided on collecting food items from the various hidden stashes all over the forest to give to the animals and also to supply you as you go. You have tea, coffee and a warm coat from the first stashes so you should be fine, not like the foxes, deer and other poor animals. You should finish most of this task before it gets dark because it will get dangerous then.
