The glacial mountain forest is only easy to access in spring when the ice have melted and the cold have already lowered, otherwise the snow covers the entire place and it is definitely hard to venture into it then. That day Marcus was on the trail for it was spring and the mountains is lush now with greens all-over, but there are still ice though only at higher altitudes. The path that Marcus is currently taking is a typical one for him and he knows it very well, it is a scenic route and he had been there many times. But somehow the path had changed and that unfortunately got Marcus lost in the great wilderness!

Marcus suspects that an avalanche had occurred and destroyed the path which he usually takes, that could have gotten him lost and because he is alone and camp is very far, any savior that will come could take hours or even a whole day! Marcus could not wait that long for the gear he packed can only last that day, that means he can only escape using his own knowledge and skills.
