The king tortured him and had him revoked his statement. After all of this cruelties he tossed the priest into a cell to keep him there until he was going to be sacrificed to console the wrath of the god. The public knows he is right about his teachings and wants him rescued immediately. You can join to their riot in order to release him somehow. Scour the nearby area in search of useful items and use them to open the door of the cell. Have fun!
