As he didn’t get salary for a few months, he wasn’t able to pay his debts to the bank, so they decided to take his house. He has nowhere else to go, so he can’t allow his house to be taken away. So when the count officials came to take the house and get him on the streets, he revenged on them by locking them inside the house. So now they are trapped and need to escape.
