You have to find something to eat or you won’t survive. You had to take down the flag and paint over the body of the ship to cover up the damages and the war banner. Otherwise, everyone could see that you belong to the “enemy”. The battle was chaotic and your army lost. You were one of the lucky survivors. You barely managed to get away, but you had to go deeper into the enemy territory, because there was no other way around.
