It’s golden era dates back to the 13th and 15th century. It lasted for additional 70 years after the Spanish began the occupation of Mexico. The diseases brought by the conquistadors, caused the fall of the city. Today, it’s a famous tourist attraction. You also decided to visit it and spent a little too much inside.
