They were conquered around 2270 BC by the Akkadian Empire, however they still remained in great numbers. Around 2000 BC, they had a short renaissance. One of their cities, Eridu, was the first known city in history, where separate cultures lived together. The peasant Ubaidian farmers, the nomadic Semitic pastoralists. and the fisher folk, the Sumerians. The Ubaidians lived in mud-brick, clay houses like this. During a tour in Mesopotamia, you left your group and ventured into the unknown. You found this little house and wanted to see how it looked from the inside. It looked pretty old. Just as the doors.
