The Skocjan Caves can be found in Slovenia, Europe. They were first mentioned by a Greek geographer, historian and philospher, called Posidonius of Apamea. They were also marked on the oldest published maps of this region. They were explored for the moder era, when the authorities wished to solve Trieste's drinking water problem. They tried to follow the underground course of the Reka river and during this, they explored the caves. During the centuries they kept exploring new halls, rooms and passages. The cave system is huge and exciting. No wonder you wished to check it out. Maybe you'll find a new passage.
