The Seneca Lake is the largest glacial Finger Lakes of New York State. Maybe the most famous Seneca was Seneca the Elder, a Roman rhetorican and writer. Of course, this lake is not named after him. It got its name from the tribe which used to live around it, the Seneca tribe. They were one of the Six Nations, or the Iroquis League. They're descendants of Seneca who took refuge there after the American Revolutionary War. He was allied to the British but forced to run away. He built a farmhouse next to the lake and it still stands. Let's look around!
