The only way to travell between Dusk Forest and Azure Mountains is to cross this land. It got its name from Fire, the dragon lord eho played a huge role in forming the landscape of the region. An army of human knights once sought to destroy the monster and sneaked up on him during a night to cut his head. However, he woke up and dodged everything they threw at him. He became furious and stormed out of the cave, breathing fire out of his mouth. He caused huge destruction on his way. The land looks like this because of him.
